Counselling can offer an opportunity for you to explore your thoughts and feelings about your difficulties in a private and confidential environment. Working together as a partnership, we look at ways of helping you through those challenges. I am very interested in the use of art, creative writing, music, crafts and other media in counselling to complement my Person-Centred approach to therapy.
Special rates for students and the unwaged.
I carry full indemnity insurance and I practice under qualified supervision.
I adhere to the BACP Code of Ethical Practice
Testimonials:
"I was extremely nervous going to see a counsellor, especially a male one, but Mervyn made me feel instantly at ease with his relaxed, friendly approach. It took me quite some time to express my problems/anxieties - Mervyn never rushed me....just supported me through many silences, tears, rantings etc., and he also introduced humour at appropriate times...and it was fantastic to hear myself laughing again!
I can't thank Mervyn enough for all his support during my 'bad times'. He made me feel as if I was the only that mattered in that room! I am now fulfilling a lot of what I wanted, all of which is due to me, BUT, I couldn't have done it without my 'sounding board' (Mervyn)
I am very grateful, thank you!"

"I first went to Mervyn in 2000 to help me give up smoking, and came away inspired to completely turn my life around. He has supported me all the way, helping me through a painful process of transformation."

" I couldn't believe how much energy I had after the first session with Mervyn. I was bouncing out of bed at 5 am the next morning, so switched on and getting everything done. His techniques make you feel that you are in control at all times and a session feels like a good night's sleep.
People are missing out on this!"
